30th PHILCONSTRUCT TO HIGHLIGHT NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN CONSTRUCTION
\nProjections by industry experts indicate that the construction industry will further increase its contribution to the economy to P130 trillion by 2030 under its roadmap. The roadmap was crafted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in collaboration with the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) and the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA). It was launched earlier this year at the Luzon edition of PHILCONSTRUCT organized by PCA in Clark, Pampanga.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Innovation in construction development is going to play a crucial role under this roadmap. The construction ecosystem now has focus on finding solutions to the many challenges faced by the industry. \u201cThis is where PHILCONSTRUCT\u2019s role as the industry sourcing show becomes very important,\u201d said Gerry Pancho, overall event chairman and 1 st vice president of PCA. \u201cPHILCONSTRUCT gives industry decision-makers and buyers to connect with suppliers and manufacturers from both here and abroad in one convenient venue, cutting down on the time to connect with each company on a personal basis.\u201d<\/p>\n

PHILCONSTRUCT, which celebrates its 30 th anniversary this year, will be held on November 7 to 10 at the SMX Convention Center Manila and the World Trade Center Metro Manila. Aside from the two convention centers, PHILCONSTRUCT will also have three expansion tents in WTCMM and an outdoor display area for heavy equipment at the Ipil-ipil lot of the CCP Complex Grounds, making this the biggest edition of the show to date \u2013 over 70,000 sq. meters of exhibition space is being targeted.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s true that the construction industry presents many opportunities for business, the need to stay on top of the game is becoming even more imperative as this could spell the difference between winning and losing projects.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore than putting together sellers and buyers in one venue, PHILCONSTRUCT is one of PCA\u2019s ways of serving industry needs,\u201d shared Morris Agoncillo, president of PCA. \u201cThis year, we have put special focus on getting foreign exhibitors to showcase new tech and solutions that our local practitioners should consider utilizing. For one, we have a New Technology Pavilion by the European Union. About 30 exhibitors from all over Europe are coming over to be part of this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another important highlight of this year\u2019s PHILCONSTRUCT is a showcase of the Philippine Construction Industry Roadmap 2020 to 2030. This showcase, which is being prepared in partnership with the DTI and CIAP, aims to spread knowledge about the four pillars of the industry, its direction for the coming decade, and the important role industry professionals play in turning this vision into reality.<\/p>\n

Pancho added, \u201cPHILCONSTRUCT is no longer just a trade expo. We have come a long way from simply being a showcase of products and machinery. This event is deeply grounded and rooted in PCA\u2019s mission as nation builders to unify the industry and ensure that we are all playing our respective roles in not only making it globally competitive. Our belief is that by improving the practice of construction, we are
\nable to create and build better structures, infrastructures, and communities which hopefully will create a ripple effect in the way Filipinos live, work, and play. Our hope here is that by transforming the industry, we are transforming the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 30 th PHILCONSTRUCT will occupy both the SMX Convention Center Manila and the World Trade Center Metro Manila, featuring more than 2,500 brands from 23 countries. This will include its co- presenter Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines as well as major sponsors CW Home Depot, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Civic Merchandising, and Isuzu.<\/p>\n

World Trade Center will once again be filled with the latest machinery and equipment for building and construction Meanwhile, visitors can expect a packed showcase of building materials, tools, interior products, and more at the SMX Convention Center<\/p>\n

PHILCONSTRUCT<\/strong> to feature manufacturers of building materials and HVAC &amp; R technologies from Korea, Taiwan will also have a country pavilion at the expo featuring a wide range of tech for smart cities.<\/p>\n
